On 1 April, Eindhoven hosted the free technical workshop “Green Ammonia Energy: Intensified Production, Conversion and Separation”, bringing together researchers, industry leaders, and innovation stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in green ammonia technologies and their role in the energy transition.
The event was co-organised by six European Union-funded projects—AmbHer, AndreaH, APOLO, CAIPIRINH3A, FASTER, and MEASURED—and organised by 1 Cube. The workshop provided a collaborative platform for knowledge exchange on advanced approaches to green ammonia production, conversion, separation, and integration into future energy systems.



Green ammonia is increasingly recognised as a key enabler of decarbonisation, offering significant potential as a carbon-free energy carrier, hydrogen storage medium, and sustainable fuel for hard-to-abate sectors. The workshop explored innovative technologies and intensified processes that can accelerate the commercial deployment of green ammonia solutions across Europe and beyond.

Within the framework of the APOLO project, industry partners Johnson Matthey and H2SITE contributed to the programme with technical presentations highlighting their expertise and ongoing developments in ammonia and hydrogen technologies. Their contributions provided valuable insights into cutting-edge solutions for process intensification, conversion technologies, and separation systems that support the transition towards a sustainable hydrogen and ammonia economy.

The event demonstrated the importance of cross-sector collaboration between European research projects, technology developers, and industrial partners in addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with green ammonia. By bringing together complementary expertise and innovative solutions, the workshop reinforced the collective commitment to advancing sustainable energy technologies and supporting Europe’s clean energy ambitions.
