M24 Consortium at Johnson Matthey

Just back from Reading, England, a city rich in literary heritage, with traces of Oscar Wilde and Jane Austen, yet firmly oriented toward the future of sustainable innovation. Reading is also home to our partner Johnson Matthey, a global leader in sustainable technologies and decarbonization, and recently hosted the consortium meeting of the APOLO project, reached the second year of the project.

The APOLO project, funded by the European Union, brings together 12 partners from 7 European countries. The consortium is working collaboratively to develop energy conversion technologies based on ammonia and to reduce the environmental impact of maritime transport. The project’s core objective is to enable cleaner and renewable energy solutions, particularly hydrogen, to support a more sustainable shipping sector.

The meeting in Reading was a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, alignment among partners, and strengthening international collaboration. It reaffirmed the importance of joint efforts in accelerating the energy transition and advancing practical solutions for a greener future.
